To all our family and friends

We want so much for all of you to join us as we mark our 30th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal ceremony. As hard as we might wish, however, we know that not everyone can just slip away for a weekend cruise. However, if your travel dreams have you envisioning yourself in the cool blue water of the Bahamas before the year is over, it would be awesome if your vacation coincided with our vow renewal! Just let us know if you book a cabin so we can include you in the guest count for the ceremony. We would love to have you sail with us as we renew the commitment we made nearly 30 years ago. Join us onboard the spectacular Disney Dream. Full details are below for dates and bookings.

Vow Renewal Information

We got engaged in August of 1990, and before we had been able to do much of any kind of wedding planning, Jim got a recall notice to return to active duty for the first Gulf War. We pulled together a pretty awesome wedding with just a few weeks to plan, but we really didn’t get to pick a wedding date we wanted because of the way things got rushed.

On 12/24/2019 – Jim, in his usual fashion, sprung the idea on me that we should renew our vows while doing one of our favorite things – cruising. We had talked about a vow renewal, but the thought of combining it with not only a cruise AND Christmas was a purely brilliant idea. The exact location on the ship and the day and time of the ceremony will be updated here as we get information from the ship. Stay tuned!

3-Night Very Merrytime Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral Dec 18-21, 2020 Ship: Disney Dream

The 3-night voyage includes Broadway-style shows, meet and greets with your favorite Disney characters, delicious food served in beautifully themed dining rooms, and the always spectacular fireworks at sea. You’ll find the ship “decked” out in holiday splendor, enjoy exclusive holiday sailing entertainment, and you might even get to firm up that wish list with the big guy in red!

Cruise Itinerary Day 1

Day 1 Port Canaveral, Florida Aboard: 3:45 PM | Sailing Away Deck Party

Get ready to set sail and board the ship by 3:45. Grab a cocktail and join the Sail Away Deck Party at 4:15 as we embark on our voyage to the clear waters and warm sunshine! This evening is all about dining and enjoying the entertainment and shopping the ship has to offer.

Cruise Itinerary Day 2

Day 2 Nassau, Bahamas Ashore: 9:30 AM, Aboard: 5:15 PM | Pirate Night

While you were sleeping, the captain and his crew magically transport you safely to our first port. We are hoping this is a vow renewal day for us, but we won’t have specific details until closer to sailing. In the meantime, you might think about heading out to swim with dolphins, enjoy the beautiful Atlantis Resort, take a tour or visit the famous Straw Market.

You might make today a spa day. Adults can partake in any number of spa services or enjoy the amenities at the Rainforest in Senses Spa. Grab a cold fruit smoothie and enjoy the sunset while you soak in the hot tub!

It’s also Pirates in the Caribbean night onboard the Dream. Join the party and dress up in your pirate gear for a swashbuckling good time. There will be a pirate deck party, fireworks, and a late-night pirate buffet for all to enjoy.

Cruise Itinerary Day 3

Day 3 Disney Castaway Cay Ashore: 8:30 AM, Aboard: 4:45 PM

Disney’s private Bahamas island, Castaway Cay, is inviting you to enjoy the warm sand, the cool water, and the delicious barbecue lunch. We’ll have a full day at the beach, but you can get an early start by signing up for the Castaway Cay 5K. Book your port adventures to enjoy snorkeling, parasailing, or any number of fun ocean activities.

In addition to the beautiful family beach, guests 18 and older can also relax in the tranquility of Serenity Bay, the adults only part of this beautiful island. Rent a raft or an inner tube, order up a taste of paradise from one of the attentive waiters that will stop by your lounge chair, and enjoy the ocean breeze. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

Cruise Itinerary Day 4

Day 4 Port Canaveral, Florida Disembark: 7:30 AM

Transportation to and from the port is available through Disney on special Disney’s Magical Express motor coaches. The cost is $39 per person, each way. You can take the shuttles directly from Orlando International Airport, or you can arrange to take the shuttle from one of the Walt Disney World resort hotels.

There is ample parking at Port Canaveral, should you decide to take your own vehicle or a rental car. Fees at the port vary by the length of the cruise, and for a 3-night cruise, the cost is $68 per vehicle.

There are also several very reasonable – and reliable – services in the area, should you want to book an independent service. We recommend Happy Limo in the Orlando area, which is approximately $35 round trip, per person. We can also help group people together if necessary – Happy Limo requires a minimum of 4 people. https://www.happylimo.com/rates—fleet.html

Walt Disney World at Christmas

If you have not had the opportunity to visit Walt Disney World during the holiday season, a pre- or post-cruise visit might just be the thing to kick your Christmas spirit into overdrive. Each resort offers spectacular themed decorations, and the parks are awash in holiday splendor.

You’ll find enchanting holiday entertainment, beautiful seasonal displays, and even a taste of holidays around the world, as Epcot features festive food from around the globe.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes place on select nights throughout December at the Magic Kingdom, and the stunning Candlelight Processional occurs three times nightly at Epcot.

If you need any help at all to plan extra days, let us know. We are happy to help make your visit merry!
